Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using DesktopEpics ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

DesktopEpics Studios operates desktopepics.com, a streaming platform delivering original short-form dramatic series, films, audio dramas, and podcasts. All video and audio content on desktopepics.com is currently provided free of charge, without a subscription. DesktopEpics Studios also operates shop.desktopepics.com, a bookstore where ebooks are sold as one-time purchases, delivered to your account for lifetime reading access in the in-browser Library reader. Content is produced using AI-assisted video generation tools with human voice performances.

3. Account Registration

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• You must provide a valid email address
• One account per person
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You may not share your account credentials
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

4. Book Purchases

Payment

• Ebooks are sold as one-time purchases on shop.desktopepics.com. There is no subscription.
• Prices are shown in USD and may be subject to applicable taxes.
• Payment is processed securely through Stripe. We never store credit card details on our servers.

Delivery

• Upon successful payment, the purchased ebook is attached to your DesktopEpics account and made available to read immediately in the Library reader at desktopepics.com/library.
• You retain access to purchased books indefinitely. Books do not expire and do not require renewal.
• Books are readable on any device with a web browser. No app installation or download is required.

Sample Content

Every book offers free excerpt chapters, readable without purchase, so you can preview the writing before buying.

Refunds

• All book purchases are final at the point of successful payment and delivery to your account. Because delivery is instant and digital access is granted immediately, refunds are not offered as a matter of course.
• If your purchase fails to deliver, if you were charged in error, or if the book has a material defect, contact support@desktopepics.com within 14 days and we will resolve the issue in good faith, including issuing a refund where appropriate.

Ownership and License

• Your purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable license to read the purchased book on any device via your DesktopEpics account. You do not receive redistribution rights.
• Purchased books remain subject to Section 6 (Content Ownership) below.

5. Paid Subscription Services (Not Currently Offered)

Pricing (reference only — not currently offered)

• Single plan: $4.44/month
• No annual plans, no tiers, no season passes
• Episode 1 of every series would remain free without an account

Billing and Auto-Renewal (reference only)

Subscriptions would be billed monthly and auto-renew until cancelled. Payment would be processed securely through Stripe. Prices would be in USD and subject to applicable taxes.

Georgia Auto-Renewal Disclosure (O.C.G.A. § 13-12-3): If a subscription were reactivated, subscriptions would automatically renew each month at the then-current price until cancelled by the subscriber. Subscribers would receive a confirmation email at the point of sign-up with renewal terms and cancellation instructions.

Cancellation (reference only)

• Subscribers would be able to cancel at any time from their Account page
• Cancellation would take effect at the end of the then-current billing period
• Subscribers would retain access to subscription content until the end of their paid period
• No refunds would be issued for partial billing periods

Reactivation

Should DesktopEpics offer a paid streaming subscription in the future, these Terms of Service will be updated to reflect its active status, an updated effective date will be posted at the top of this page, and existing account holders will be notified via email at least 30 days in advance of any active offering.

6. Content Ownership

All content on DesktopEpics (video, audio, books, text, graphics, UI design) is owned by DesktopEpics Studios or its licensors and is protected by United States and international copyright laws.

• You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to stream video/audio content and to read purchased books for personal, non-commercial use
• You may not download, copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from any content
• You may not circumvent or disable any content protection or DRM mechanisms
• Screenshots and short quotations for personal, non-commercial commentary are permitted under fair use

7. AI-Generated Content Disclosure

DesktopEpics content is produced using AI-assisted video generation tools. Human voice actors provide character performances. All AI tools used in production are properly licensed. This disclosure is provided in accordance with FTC guidelines on AI-generated media.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Share account credentials with others
• Attempt to circumvent DRM or copy protection on purchased ebooks
• Scrape, automate access, or reverse-engineer any aspect of the Service
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

9. DMCA Notice

DesktopEpics respects intellectual property rights. To report copyright infringement, send a DMCA notice to legal@desktopepics.com with:

• Identification of the copyrighted work
• Identification of the infringing material with enough detail to locate it
• Your contact information
• A statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized
• A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Content availability may change — series or episodes may be added or removed.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DesktopEpics' total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Henry County, Georgia.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email with 30 days notice. Continued use of the Service after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
